The Yamato distillery is originally a Shochu brewery that has hidden its passion for whisky. They have matured this rice shochu further in white oak barrels to bring out the typical whisky aromas.
Thanks in part to the Japanese government, this is allowed to bear the name whisky. Two strong iconic national drinks that have joined forces.
