The mikan, Japanese clementine, was macerated for months in shochu to get the flavor out of the fruit and into the drink. Afterwards the flavor is balanced by adding sake and sugar.
This mikanshu comes from Arita, Arita City is known as a major producer of “Arita oranges” with a history and tradition of 400 years.
We can interpret this taste as a bouquet of a Japanese clementine that is very surprising by the expressive freshness of a fresh-sweet taste through the ripe aftertaste. This mikanshu is very nicely balanced.
